Meet Our Team

Matthew Lee

Matthew Lee

Hi, I'm Matthew Lee, one of the founders of The Education Refuge. I am currently a Senior living in Northern California and if I am not working on this project you can most likely find me practicing serves with my team at the tennis courts or in the library reading. Since I believe that education should be high-quality and equal for anyone who seeks it, I co-founded the Education Refuge as a means to supplement the learning of those in greater need of learning support.

Anjay Singla

I'm Anjay Singla, currently navigating twelfth grade in Maryland and a co-founder of The Education Refuge. Ever since my childhood, I've had a fascination with tinkering and exploring technology, especially coding and building computers, which have become second nature to me. Outside the digital realm, you'll find me outdoors—camping, hiking trails, or practicing archery. This balance between tech exploration and outdoor adventure keeps my days diverse and engaging, where every challenge is an opportunity to learn and every experience is a chance to discover something new.

Reese Park

Reese Park

Hello! My name is Reese Park. I'm from Austin, Texas. As a result of living in Texas I've been witness to the vast disparity in opportunities between permanent citizens and displaced peoples. Seeing the unfair disadvantages faced by underprivileged groups has fueled my passion for public service which I hope to pursue through the Education Refuge. My main goals are to recruit mentors, create English lesson plans, and teach advanced grammar. I'm hoping to use my position to help as much as I can with creating opportunities for both our students and our mentors.

Luke Watkins

Hello! My name is Luke Watkins and I am the Director of Personnel, Operating Manager of the Open Rooms, and one of the lead teachers for the Education Refuge. This project has been a personal passion for me as I get to connect with people from all over the world. When I'm not working on the Education Refuge I am excelling academically, running track, lifeguarding at Barton Springs, teaching swim lessons, or playing the drums.
